|
|
Hi, I want to send an email after a profile run, but it doesn't want to work. For a while I used the provided email-script from TGRMN, and that worked for some time. But then after a while I noticed that my W2K3 server didn't send any emails anymore.
The script itself is working, because manually running it, let me receive an email, but letting it run via ViceVersa Pro does not work. I see in the logs that the email-script is executed successfully (DONE) , but no actual email is send and received. Did all kind of testing, firewall, accounts, scripts, ... but no luck.
Then I saw that version 2.5 has a built in mailing system. Again here, doing a Test-email works (button), but when ViceVersa needs to send the mail after the profile run itself, I see that the mail is sent in the logs, but no mail is received.
Is driving me nuts here... can you help?!
My os is Windows Server 2003 SP2

Which tool are you using to schedule the profile and under which user account is it running when scheduled? thanks _________________ --

Normally the profile is run by vvEngine, but for testing I run the profile via ViceVersa itself.
vvEngine runs under the default Local System Account, and ViveVersa I run under my administrator account.
Via both tools the email-script is run but no email is received.

Just to clarify: while the log always shows the e-mail always correctly sent (both with script and with built-in ViceVersa support), the e-mail is only received when ViceVersa is running under the administrator account but not under the default Local System Account?

Almost correct
When running the script by double clicking it, it sends the email successfully.
When I press the Send Test Email button in version 2.5, the email is sent successfully.
From the moment the ViceVersa tool needs to do this by itself automatically (either with script or with built-in ViceVersa support), the log says that an email is sent successfully, but no email is actually sent and received.

Try running VVEngine under the admin account instead of local system. _________________ --

That did not help... used the local admin account for the vvEngine service, but still not ok. Running it via ViceVersa itself (not via vvEngine) is also not ok.
I think it is not a user account issue, because ViceVersa itself has also issues in sending the email, when I'm logged on with a local admin. Running the email script seperately under that same local admin, does work, so the account has rights to send the email.
So sending the Test email in ViceVersa and running the script manually, works. But from the moment a mail needs to be sent after a profile has run, it does not work.
Thx, TU |

Hi,
Did you try using a different e-mail account? just to be sure....
Could you send us the .fsf file ? What e-mail account are you using? Wondering if there is a way we can reproduce this issue.
Lastly, did you have the opportunity to try the same setup on a different machine?
thanks! _________________ --

Hi,
No, did not use a different e-mail account... the one I entered works perfectly with the script when run manually. I just found out that I even don't need to use my mail credentials... use now cdoAnonymous, and with cdoAnonymous it works also manually. Via ViceVersa again not.
What do you mean with: what email account do you use? It is a normal POP-account (pop & smtp).
I have setup a complete new machine (Windows Server 2008)... and have the same issue.
How can I attach the file in this forum?

After quite some time... I'm back.
I have narrowed down my problem.
Installed a new Windows Server 2008 server.
Using ViceVersa Pro 2.5 build 2501.
I can send test emails as much as I can, but from the moment I run once the profile with email notification configured, no emails are sent anymore, even during running that profile itself.
After restarting the program, I can send test emails as much as I can again, but again running the profile, corrupts the email sending.
Really think this is a bug!
Can you help?

Hello
we are not sure what is going wrong here, we never had this problem before. Usually once you can send the e-mail, then it always work. The fact that also the e-mail script does not work makes me think this could be a problem not related to ViceVersa, the script uses the Windows engine to send e-mail. Do you have any anti-virus installed that could be blocking the e-mail?
