I have 2 folders I am synchronizing. On the first one all the source files get copied to the target. All the FILES (and folders) are re-time stamped during this process.

On the second run of the sync all the files are then recopied back to the source because Vice Versa detects the time stamp change.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I found a similar thread on the forum that did not have a solution but the last post from the Forum Admin said "Email Sent"

Any help will be appreciated.

What if you switch on the option to copy files without using a temp files, it's in profile settings -> execution...
Is this a replication / sync between 2 windows operative systems? Which versions?
Are file timestamps kept if you use Windows Explorer to copy the files?

thanks!

If I do not use temp files it appears as if the time stamp does not change.

My setup consists of 3 Windows Server 2003 servers, 1 server has Vice Versa installed.

Quote:
Profile 1, Syncs a folder on Server A to Server B and Archives deleted files to folder on Server A

Profile 2, Syncs Server A to Server C and Archives deleted files on Server A

Profile 3 Mirrors Archive Folder on Server A with folder on Server B.

File Stamps are kept when doing manual windows explorer transfers.

Is the solution to just keep the temp file option turned off? Is it still safe to do this if there is a disruption in the network while the process is running?

I'd be happy to try it if your going to give me the upgrade. Version 2.0 should do this and I dont want to pay for a bug fix. Either that or refund our 2.0 purchase and we will rebuy version 2.5.

Please advise how to get this to function with my current version.
