I don't want to upgrade to a pro 2.5 license until I know it will work for me. If I install the trial 2.5 -- which will clobber pro 2b2015 -- how do I later reinstall 2b2015 if I decide I do not want to buy 2.5?

Hi, if you are registered for ViceVersa PRO 2 and you install version 2.5 (which replaces version 2) a 30-day trial will start. If you then want to go back to version 2 you can simply re-install version 2 over version 2.5
thanks

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure that would work without clobbering anything.

However, it would have been much more convenient if 2.5 were designed in a such a way that it could be installed without clobbering 2.0. I run several backups automatically using 2.0 at frequent intervals. It would be much better if I could avoid having all these possibly fail in unpredictable ways just because i want to try 2.5.

I note that unless you have fixed some of the various bugs and misfeatures I have reported to you over the years, there would be little point for me to buy 2.5.

Is there some particular reason why (licensed)pro2b2015 cannot coexist with 2.5trial?

Theoretically you could install version 2.5 in a different folder and try it. We have made version 2.5 to install in the same folder, so that all the settings, including VVScheduler schedules do not need to be changed.

If you are interested in particular fixes, please list them here and I can tell you if they were addressed in this release.

thanks
