We have used ViceVersa for a very long time, and recently started using VVEngine as a service. We VERY FREQUENTLY encounter overnight runs aborted by "network accessibility" issues.
Whatever the momentary "accessibility" issue is, it is not detected by any of our other applications. It appears that this version is much more sensitive to network interruptions and has little or no recovery or restart built into it. Aborting the run for such a minor occurance without seriously trying to deal with the issue is pretty lame. In all other respects this package seems to be pretty sophisticated.
Is there some kind of option or alternative we are missing?? |

Files #1 and #3 where copied and #2 was not. This all happened in the space of about 6 seconds. The network name was obviously avaliable by the time it got to #3.

Was this problem ever resolved? I was looking for a Windows alternative to rsync (using DeltaCopy has a bug in it) and need a more stable program to mirror data from one server to backup server...
Thx. |

No, I don't have your product. I'm looking to replace rsync program (deltacopy) with a better one and came across your product. However, after reading this forum entry, I'm concerned that there is a problem with your program... And I'm asking if it was fixed....
Thx. |

Thanks, the issue here is that if the network connection is lost, while a file is copying, that file is skipped, and then the next one is copied when the connection is back. We plan to add more redundancy in the future, e.g. you would be able to specify to pause on network error and retry later on. This is not something that happens frequently if you have a good connection, but it's an option that could be useful when network connections are not stable. thanks _________________ --
