We've been using VVEnigne and ViceVersa for over a year now and generally love the application with the exception of a few problems, one of them serious.

We're running the latest versions of ViceVersa and VVEngine on Windows Server 2003 64 bit R2 to synchronize 5 directories every 5 minutes between 2 servers.

Here are the issues we are encountering:

1) VVEngine is started automatically on boot under its own user ID, and runs fine for a few weeks. After 2 or so weeks the VVEngine app starts to consume 100% CPU which tend to kill the servers web serving performance. Stopping and restarting the service resolves the issue for another few weeks.

2) Every now and then some files in a directory cannot be deleted when using sync mode (with DB). When I run the route manually it deletes the files fine. The files seem to have the same permissions as other files which can be copied or deleted without issue.

3) I am trying to run the global email notification script at the end of all runs, with no success. It works fine (and send email fo the issue) when I run the routes manually (ensuring to create an error), but the script does not seem to run when the route is run automatically (no notification email of error. I did place the script in the C:\Program Files\ViceVersa PRO2\GlobalScripts\global_end.vbs file. Not sure why it's not working.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you give.

Alan

Can you please send the file VVengine.log , VVengine.xml and VVengine.db to support@tgrmn.com

Re the other 2 issues, can you please send the profile logs (see profile settings -> execution)

thanks

I looked in the log files you mentioned and found that the VB scripts were not running due to the error message:

CScript Error: Can't find script engine "VBScript" for script "C\Program Files (X86)\viceversa Pro 2\GlobalScripts\Global_end.vbs".

I researched the error and found that it is caused by the registry entry for the vbscript.dll being either corrupted or deleted.

People have recommended that open a command line window and run "regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\VBScript.dll", which registers the DLL file.

I have done this and hopefully it has resolved the script error.

The file delete issue is another thing though. I found the error message:

[Deleting file D:\webdir\file.pdf (can not delete "D:\webdir\file.pdf". Access is denied.] [ERROR]

This seems to point to a file permission issue, but the files seem to have the same permissions as other files in the same directories that were added/deleted fine.

I will send you the files shortly.

Thanks,

Alan
