On Windows 98SE, I carefully set up a backup template on the latest version of Vice Versa Pro Ver. 1.3.1 on 05/16/2005 to replicate hard disk C: to USB hard disk G.

When I attempt to run a Compare it starts collecting information for the comparison from C: but when it gets somewhere between 368,000 to an absolute maximum of 380,000 files/folders on C: I get the following error window and message:

Window: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime LibraryError States: Runtime Error! Program: C:\PROGRAM FILES\VICEVERSA PRO\VICEVERSA.EXE abnormal program termination

Do you have a solution for this? Thanks!

The log file simply says:

2005-05-14 15:51:50 : Checking source C:\ ...
2005-05-14 15:52:05 : Aborted.

The termination screen for Visual C++ comes up and the program terminates. This always happens on the compare at a maximum of 380,000 files and the error points to the .EXE for ViceVersa.

Any ideas?

Best,

Jim

I think the cause must be a specific file on the system. It is not the amount of files. 380.000 is not much for ViceVersa. Try to start with a subfolder of c: instead as the source and see if this is still happening.
