|
|
Hi All,
Has anyone come across this problem and is there a fix. I want to backup a number of folders, let’s say they are…
DATA
APPS
BACKUP
COMMON
I want to back them up to…
\\server\e$
The problem is, ViceVersa does not recreate the original sourch folders on e$, instead all the files and folders from the source are dumped and mixed in the root of the “e” drive on server1.
The only way I can achieve this goal is to tell ViceVersa to backup all of E: and send it to \\server\e$ then exclude the folders I don’t want copying. That works, creating all the source folders in the root of E: on server.
Even ticking “Create targets folders if they do not exist” does not fix the fault.
Any help please. |

Hello
there are two solutions to this:
a) Create and use different targets for each source:
DATA <-> \\server\e$\DATA\
APPS <-> \\server\e$\APPS\
BACKUP <-> \\server\e$\BACKUP\
COMMON <-> \\server\e$\COMMON\
You need to create the targets manually before the first copy is run.
a) Let ViceVersa create the targets for each source:
DATA <-> \\server\e$\<source>\
APPS <-> \\server\e$\<source>\
BACKUP <-> \\server\e$\<source>\
COMMON <-> \\server\e$\<source>\
Activate “Create targets folders if they do not exist”
The variable source will be expanded by ViceVersa and the folder created.

Many thanks – that’s works ok –
Is there a switch to tell ViceVersa not to stop and ask me to confirm the creation of folders, just get on with the job.
Where can I find ViceVerse switches to run as part of the backup job?
Many thanks
