|
|
I mirror my data from one NAS to another for backup purposes. This system works very well but every time the clocks change (backwards or forwards) the next run on the VV mirror scripts does an entire mirror backup which takes a couple of days to complete. It then returns to normal only mirroring changes.
Anybody else notice this problem?
Any solution?
Cheers,

Hello
This can happen if the NAS are formatted with the FAT32 file system. To work around this issue, you could activate the options:
Ignore up to 2 seconds difference between files FAT and NTFS are two file systems used by the Windows operating system. FAT, (V)FAT and FAT(32) maintain a file's timestamp to an accuracy of two seconds whereas NTFS is accurate to the millisecond. So when files are copied from an NTFS drive to a FAT drive or viceversa the timestamps can change by up to 2 seconds but the files remain the same. With ViceVersa you can work around this issue by activating the option "Ignore up to 2 seconds difference between files": all files with a timestamp difference up to 2 seconds will be considered as having the same timestamp.
Ignore 1 hour difference between filesAre you seeing 1 hour difference between files in source and target that should instead have the same timestamp? That is because FAT file timestamps are not adjusted for Daylight Saving Time (DST) whereas NTFS entries are. To work around this, activate the option "Ignore 1 hour difference between files". _________________ --
