|
|
I am using ViceVersa to mirror directories on a source drive to a backup drive. Once placed on the backup drive, the files/directories are not modified except by ViceVersa when it either deletes them (because they were deleted from the source) or updates them with a newer version (because the source had a newer version).
Occasionally I see the following warning message:
Quote: | Some files are present in both source and target but are newer in target. If you want to overwrite these files with older source files while backing up, use the option 'Replace newer target files with older source files" |
How is that even possible? When a file is copied from source to target, they will have the exact same time stamp. I already know I don't ever touch the backup copies of the files, so how could they ever possibly end up with a more recent timestamp than the source files? |

could you send end an example of newer files in target to support@tgrmn.com please? What timestamps (created / modified / accessed) do they have?
thanks |
What exactly do you want me to send? Just a list of timestamps in the files (target vs. source)?
Sorry, that last post above was me not realizing I wasn't logged in. Can you please delete it?
Thanks |
