|

I'm using an Iomega Home Media 1TB Network Hard Drive. It works fine during normal use with 7 users. When I perform a compare though with Vice Versa it slows to a crawl, becomes laggy or completely unresponsive. The compare runs so slow that it didn't finish in the 18 hours I let it run since yesterday. It never faulted or gave any error, just didn't finish. Once Vice Versa tries to do a comparison on the drive in runs slowly until it is rebooted then works fine.
What can be done to fix this issue? |

How fast is your network ? Are you compare with CRC ? And how much is your amount of data ? (1 TB ??? ) Compare with what ?
I estimate, that your network-drive supports average 3MB /sec maximum. Calculate this once !

CRC comparison is pretty heavy as it needs to open every file.
You could slow down ViceVersa PRO using the Speed settings in profile settings -> performance

When I perform a compare on a smaller section (half gig) the compare works fine. But when I try to do a compare on all 200 gigs of data I have, the compare eventually slows to a crawl, hard disk performace suffers and never recovers.
Will try the speed setting.
