Hello,
We are looking to implement some sync software to mirror a database machine over the network, to another machine.
ViceVersa Pro looks like it may fit the bill, but I have a few questions.
My questions are these:
1. I saw that the license for ViceVersa Pro is for 1 user, but for 3 machines. Does VVEngine work the same way (if we buy 1 copy of VVEngine and 1 copy of ViceVersa Pro, can we install them both on two machines?)
2. If ViceVersa is going to be used within a business for two machines, but only one user using both of these machines, would we need to buy one or two licenses?
3. Do schedules in VVScheduler execute even if the user is not logged on?
4. Is there any way to configure ViceVersa to output everything in the source location to another location, and compress it to one zip file? (We would like to do this for a nightly backup)
Thanks in advance,
Erik |

Hello
Thank you for your interest in ViceVersa.

The non-server license allows 1 user to install ViceVersa and VVEngine on up to 3 of his/her computers. But if the computers are used by different users, each user requires a license (i.e. 3 licenses required for 3 users).

Given that only 1 user uses ViceVersa/VVEngine, for non-server, only 1 license is needed.

Yes, there is an option in the task properties to run the task if not logged on.

No, if you enable compression, each file is compressed separately. But you could run a batch script to create a compressed zip file of the target at the end of the profile execution. That should be easy to setup.
