This could be an RTFM question, but...
When running as a service using the system account, receving "cannot monitor folder" for the path \\www.xxx.yyy.zzz\sharename. Should the service be running using a common user account (an account that exists on both machines) with a common password or is there a method whereby the authentication information can be put into a configuration file?
Thanks,

The Windows Local System account does not have access to network resources. That is the cause of the error. You need to run the service under an account which has access to the network share resource.

And the second silly question is...Is this documented somewhere I should have looked prior to asking the question? If so, please tell me where. If not, you may want to add this to the FAQ...
Thanks! |
