|
|
I am mirroring a NAS unix server at work to a NAS unix server at my home through a VPN tunnel. (viceVersa is running on a win 2003 SB Server).
This is a pure mirror (no archiving etc), and the files will never be changed on the mirror, it is there for disaster recovery only.
Unfortunately the tunnel is a major speed bottleneck (that is a whole other issue).
When I schedule the task (every night) it will take maybe 5 mins to check the source and then 5-6 hrs to check the target, at the end of which it may update 1 or 2 files.
Can I use the database function to stop viceversa from having to scan the target drive every night??
Is there any better way to do this?
Thanks |

Hello
The next VVengine release (due out in few weeks) will be able to mirror changes without full rescanning. To do that, it will monitor local folders and then rescan only folder with changes. That should speed up the replication.

If the folder is on a unix based NAS, will it still work? |
