This is a pre-sales question - I'm deciding whether to buy the Pro of Plus version of ViceVersa.
I've been over the feature chart comparing the Pro and Plus versions. I have a somewhat different question about the difference between these two products.
Are Pro and Plus to versions of the very same application (same code base), but with some features disabled in the Plus version?
The reason I ask is that I see that several new versions of Pro were released last year, but no new versions of Plus (at least in your Announcements list on this forum). Or perhaps the "new Pro version" announcements implied a new version of Plus as well?
Another way of asking this is: Is Plus essentially an end-of-life product that is no longer being actively enhanced?
Thanks. |

PRO and PLUS are not the same code base.

No, the PLUS has not been updated for a while.

This has not been decided yet, but the last release of the PLUS version was long time ago. PLUS has not been ported to Vista yet.
thanks! _________________ --

Thanks for the detailed info.
Let me ask this: My need is to perform a one-way copy/update of large number of files (10,000 files, 100gb) from one XP system to another (and to an external USB hard disk), on a regular basis.
I want to perform a CRC check on each file after each copy.
Would Pro offer me any advantages over Plus for this scenario?
Thanks in advance. |
