|
|
Hi,
I have had a couple of instances now when some of my remote users have stored a file in eml format from using Outlook Express. These files are small (5 to 20KB) but they always fail during both backup and synch (different methods used for different jobs) jobs across the VPN. The failure is always "The specified network name is no longer available".
The files are backed up or synched on a LAN successfully prior to the backup or synch over the VPN.
Any ideas on what the issue is across the VPN? More than 80K other files are successfully backed up or synched across the VPN.
Thanks,
Pete |

That is correct. The EML files work on the LAN jobs but not on the VPN jobs. It has been a consistent problem for several months with different files but all are relatively small.
It is not a major issue for me as the other parties should not be using Outlook Express anyway.
I am willing to help debug the issue but my response time will be slow due to travel the next three weeks.
Thanks,
