Hi,

I'm experimenting with scripts. I can't get end script to run. The start script runs OK and I can see the output in the log window.

The end script never seems to get called.

Is there some trick?

Profile name: Local Outlook to R.fsf
Start script: Local Outlook to R_Start.cmd
End script: Local Outlook to R_End.cmd

The end script runs fine outside VV.

TIA,
Paolo

Ah... I see!

VV runs the start script THEN opens the comparison window and ONLY runs the end script when you close the comparison window. Now this is quite logical, but not intuitively obvious.

While the documentation makes it fairly (but not explicitly) clear that the start script is run before the comparison:
[X] Run custom scripts before comparison
The related check box is misleading:
[X] Run custom scripts after execution
Since the scripts are NOT run after execution, but after the closure of the comparison window.
Can I suggest the documentation be changed to make this clearer.... In fact, you don't need to execute the profile at all to trigger the end script. Now, with the benefit of the knowledge at the start of this posting, that's all correct and logical. But isn't intuitive from the documentation...

Cheerz,
Paolo
