I have run into limitations on backing up a directory that is continually adding new folders based on dates. Within the directory there are close to 5 million files, total of around 650GB. File structure goes something like this:

D:\Audio\ - This Directory contains the 5 million files

These are a few samples of the extensions to the files I am trying to backup. There is one for each date, extension on our phone system, and recording of a phone conversation:

D:\Audio\01-Nov-2008\Site01Records\Extension1234\09.41.35.009.wav
D:\Audio\05-July-2007\Site05Records\Extension6789\23.48.44.058.wav

I have seen other threads since running into VV Memory errors that say anything over 1 million files should be in its own profile, which leads me to ask how can I setup a profile for every single date that is to come as new folders are added to this directory daily? Are there wildcards available so I could do it based on the date in the folder name? ie:

D:\AudioData\01-Nov*

Thanks in advance,
Fred

Hello

Yes, you can use wild cards in the subfolder filters (and in the file filters). These filters are in the ViceVersa PRO profile settings.

You could have a profile with:

Source : D:\Audio\
Target: <target>
Subfolder Filter: Exclude "*"
Subfolder Filter: Include "D:\Audio\*-2007\"
Subfolder Filter: Include "D:\Audio\*-2006\"
Subfolder Filter: Include "D:\Audio\*-2005\"
etc.

and a second profile with:

Source : D:\Audio\
Target: <target>
Subfolder Filter: Exclude "*"
Subfolder Filter: Include "D:\Audio\*-2008\"
Subfolder Filter: Include "D:\Audio\*-2009\"

or, more generic,

Subfolder Filter: Exclude "D:\Audio\*-2007\"
Subfolder Filter: Exclude "D:\Audio\*-2006\"
Subfolder Filter: Exclude "D:\Audio\*-2005\"

thanks
