I'm new to this tool and I must say I like the functionality. I have one problem however, hopefully anyone can help me out.

Operating system: Windows Vista 32
Source folder: \\MAXMEDIA\rick\esther\ where MAXMEDIA is a NAS (network drive) with password X
Destination drive: Local drive on computer VLAMING3
ViceVersa installed on user-account \\VLAMING3\rick with password Y

With ViceVersa 2 PRO I can make a backup, all works fine.
But if I schedule this profile with VVScheduler I got the error: "Source folder not found".

Does anyone know what is the problem?
The log is:
[ERROR] Source: folder "\\MAXMEDIA\rick\esther\" not found. Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
2008-10-29 21:23:13 : Exit Code: 13. Source folder not found. [ERROR]

Within the task I specified "run as" as VLAMING-3\Rick
I can't find a way to specify the location off the source-drive, the user and the password.

Hello

Does the NAS need a user K and password X to login?
Does the error in VVScheduler appear when logged out from the computer or also when logged-in as \\VLAMING3\rick ?
Did you try entering the user name and password for the NAS in the profile settings -> folders -> network ? If yes, which user did you enter?

thanks!

When I access the NAS via Windows I need a user/password. "rick" is the user on the MAXMEDIA.
However I use a MP3-streamer to access the NAS and the streamer can connect without user/password...

The error does also appear when logged-in as \\VLAMING3\rick. Also when I'm connected to the NAS from within \\VLAMING3\rick.

This I didn't try. I first stopped the service and then entered the settings as follows:
Connect using the following credentials:
Path: \\MAXMEDIA\
User: rick
Password: Y

Then I started the service and within VVScheduler I forced to run the task again. Now the latest status field shows "Execution not completed" (last run result = 2).
The new file I put in the source folder is not copied to the destination. But if I run within ViceVersa Pro manually it works fine and is copied.

The execution option I use is "hiddenautoexec".

It looks like this is an other problem. Hopefully you can help me further.

The log is showing the following:

Could you post the log showing a run ending with "Execution not completed", thanks

I'm sorry but the log-part showing above is a result of the manual execution from within ViceVersa Pro itself. Not the result of a forced run from within VVScheduler. At that moment I thought only the scheduler did log things.

As you will see in the log-part beneath there is still a connection problem although when I hit the "test connection" button from within the network-setting within the profile it says "Connected to "\\MAXMEDIA""

The log-file output which comes from the VVScheduler run now looks as follows:

Hello

try using

VLAMING-3\rick
as the account running the task in VVScheduler

and

MAXMEDIA\rick
or
VLAMING-3\rick
as the user to connect to the MAXMEDIA

thanks,

Quote:

I did always run the task in VVScheduler as "VLAMING-3\rick"

Quote:
MAXMEDIA\rick

I did the MAXMEDIA\rick already, see above.
However I did also try within the netwerk settings:
path: \\MAXMEDIA\rick
user: rick
password: Y
The test-connection reports that the connection is fine.
The full path to the source is: \\MAXMEDIA\rick\esther where rick is I believe called a shared folder.

I tried also VLAMING-3\rick overthere (so run-as VLAMING-3 and network path to VLAMING-3). Here I got the source not found error again, although I could have guessed that. In that way the service doesn't have the user/password to the MAXMEDIA where the source is on.

Below the part of the log-file showing the output of the two tests above:

Is support giving up? Confused

It looks like the problem described with sticky thread about exit code 2 which was solved by something that the author did test before but suddenly solved the problem...

It looks like there is some problem with the order in doing things...

I did try the same things multiple times but no solution yet.

Also tried to connect to a different computer on the LAN but there the same problem.

Help.... I hope it can be solved because I like to really use this software.

Hi, I think Vista may be the culprit here....
Can you try "Connect using default user's credential", if you did not already, under profile settings ->folders -> network, thanks

That was the situation when I started with this thread.

But a moment ago I solved the problem. I discovered some problems with my LAN. The network drive was not showing up within the network-area within the explorer. I could however connect to the network drive by entering \\MAXMEDIA on the top-line op the explorer.
The login was shown but the user wasn't there so I had to type it again. At first I typed just the username rick with the right password but that was not accepted. Only when I enter MAXMEDIA\rick as username I could get in.

So I tried within the networksettings of viceversa:
path: \\MAXMEDIA\
user: MAXMEDIA\rick
password: Y

That did solve the whole problem. Before the tested via the test connection which told me I was connected. But when did those test I was already connected. When not connected the previous settings (in the other replies) will report that the connection failed. I tested it just a few minutes ago.

Lesson learned: Test connection only when not connected yet, otherwise connection from within service not guaranteed.

Everybody thanks for their replies.
If all goes fine the coming days I will buy this software.
