I have tried and tried everything i can do for this.
here is the setup
Windows 2003 64bit server
site to site vpn, cisco asa to linksys rvl200
I added the ipsec port to qos on the rvl200
everything works fine except for files bigger than 250mb.
I have some database files and backup files that I transfer over to another xp machine. This XP machine is an exact copy of my server except that it has xp so i need these backup files to transfer.
the files are 24gb. I even broke them down to 1gb, but regards when vice versa reaches 250mb or 500mb i get the error semaphore time period.
I messed around with the buffer size, it made no difference, i qos'ed the vpn traffic - nothing.
the crazy thing is this - i have the drive on the xp machine mapped on the server, if i just drag and drop the files it works. but does not with vice versa.
any suggestions? |

no not yet, i have upgraded firmware and drivers for nics, raid cards, and bios. Also installed patches on asa device. nothing yet. I found a bunch of stuff regarding tcp acknowledgements, there was issues with this in xp but corrected with in sp2, also in 2003 server but corrected. it doesnt show up in the registry like it used to. so cant really mess around with it either. i have actually transferred more in the past using emc replistor, i had synced the whole data drive over the vpn 300gb, yeah took a long time but it went through. difference then was the target machine was also running server 2003. I do not want to install server 2003 on it now because i will need the serial number for a possible exchange server. |
