Hi, Shocked

I need to run a command to shutdown a database before I do the sync. I will also need to start it back up after the sync has finished.
If I don't shutdown the database, the files will not copy and error out.

Can someone help here? Question

Thanks!

I need to do a "net stop proservice for 9.0d"
and a net stop "net start proservice for 9.0d"

How would I incorporate those commands in an script file?

Thanks,

Hello

You can try using VSS to copy files that are open: http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item33.htm

If you still prefer to shutdown and restart the database, setup a batch script to run before comparison and one after, see http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/category10.htm

thanks

OK, I am taking your advice and loosing the net start and the net stop commands to close the database.
Now I just tried to use the VSS copy and it is grayed out. Why is that?
Is there something I need to check before I can use the VSS?

Thanks!

Oops... Never mind... I'm running Windows server 2000, that is the reason VSS is grayed out. Its not supported in Win Server 2K.

Thanks, I really like this product!

Now just to find out how I can make it work for me.

Thanks!
