Using ViceVersa Pro 2 Build 2015 I am only able to copy files between machines (all w/gigabit NICs connected to a gigabit switch) at about 2MB/Sec while I can get over 100MB/Sec if I use the standard windows file copy between the same servers (i.e. if I open both the local folder and the remote folder in windows and copy the files from one to the other I get much faster performance). I have gotten better performance that that using ViceVersa in the past and since the standard file copy works I know that there is not a hardware issue. Please let me know if there are any exsisting issues with this version of ViceVersa or the operating system. Thanks, Ben |

Hello
did you try settings the buffer to a larger value in the profile settings -> performance / bandwitdth ? Also please try settings the priority to Normal or High.
thanks _________________ --

Thanks for the reply. Turning up the process priority to "High" and increasing the buffer size to a value of "262144" or higher boosted the speed to about 70 MB/sec, but that is still 30 MB/sec less than the slowest performance I get with regular windows file copy (100 - 115 MB/sec). I really like ViceVersa and I have been using it for years but the performance is a big factor when copying hundreds of gigabytes from one machine to another and I really need to figure out why it is not working well on Windows Server 2008 64-bit (which I am assuming is the problem since both machines are new and have no software installed on them...they also each have 16GB of memory and dual quad core xeon processors). It is very easy for me to replicate and test the speed so please let me know if you have any other ideas or fixes that I can try. Thanks, Ben |
