Hi there,
I've been using the email script quite a lot as a look at my previous posts will tell you. I just cannot get it to work on server 2008 64 bit Sad

When it runs a popup comes up asking for the user/password and domain for our SMTP server.

I know that the script is not faulty and that the site is OK as it works fine on an XP machine at the site and on the same domain.

There is obviously something new about Server 2008.

In that popup box, if I hit cancel the email gets sent fine.

Any ideas?

Is ViceVersa running a "normal" program? Scheduled? Is UAC turned off (you never know...)? thanks

yeah, it's all normal and UAC is off. It's not really a Vice Versa problem as such I've since discovered as I have a vbs script that 'just' send an email, so no need for Vice Versa to run. That also brings up the logon box.

Very odd, but anyone who is connecting to an exchange 2007 server from server 2008 must be getting it as it's due to the SMTP authentication I think.

Any updates on this? I cannot be the only person running jobs on server 2008 with an Exchange 2007 server?

I've had to use Microsoft Partner Support, Technet and MSDN to get this sorted - what a nightmare.

In the end a Developer Support Engineer at Microsoft Partner Support managed to solve it by changing the authentication type from cdoNTLM to cdoANONYMOUS.

This makes no sense to me as our Exchange server needs authentication. Anyway, it all works now.

cdoANONYMOUS

Also not sure why that would be the case... thank you for posting this, I am sure it will be helpful for other people on this forum.
