Visa Versa seems like a great program. I am backing up probably 50 gigs over night to a backup server. Every morning the icon next to the clock shows "copying to target...99%" and the actual vica versa window is non responsive. Basically the program seems to get stuck at 99% and the only way to close it is to end task.

Any ideas?

Hello

can you please check the profile log to see where it gets stuck? It is under profile settings -> execution.

How are you running ViceVersa? Scheduled? With which command line parms? Or manual?

thank you

I guess i dont have loggin turned on. I will turn it on and post the log.

Honeslty it appears as though visa versa is doing the full backup, but the window just seems to become non responsive and icon by the clock shows 99%.

I am executing using the scheduler. These are the profile settings

Profile File: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.NTSERVERNEW\Desktop\Wednesday.fsf* (not saved)

Folders
- "C:\Shared\data\" <to> "\\Mediaserver\Weekly\MON WED\I Drive\" (Include Subfolders)
- "C:\Shared\users\" <to> "\\Mediaserver\Weekly\MON WED\H Drive\" (Include Subfolders)
- "X:\" <to> "\\Mediaserver\Weekly\MON WED\K Drive\" (Include Subfolders)
- "E:\" <to> "\\Mediaserver\Weekly\MON WED\Epace\" (Include Subfolders)
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
Execution
- Method: Backup (Mirror Source to Target)
- No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
- Log File: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINNT\Application Data\ViceVersa PRO 2\log1.log" (max 10000 KB)
- Log only summary and errors
- No archive for deleted/replaced source files
- No archive for deleted/replaced target files

I will try manually executing and i will post the log.

Thanks, please switch-off the option 'Log only summary and errors' ; a complete log file is better for debugging. thanks

Support,

I too experienced this problem on my first full, scheduled backup of 100GB data when returning to the source machine this morning.

Did you ever get a log from the previous person and determine the cause?

In my case I had two jobs running at the same time via the VVS, but the second one had a \wait. Because the first one never cleanly finished, the second never executed.

I too will switch off the "Log only summary and errors" and submit to you, but before I do, please can you advise how big such a log file is likely to be?

Darren

Hello

the log file would be very very helpful, the size will depend on how much data are you copying...

thanks!
