|
|
I have a profile that backs up users My Documents and Outlook folders to a server. The profile defines the target folders as:
\\server\users\%username%\My Documents\
\\server\users\%username%\Outlook\
I have deployed VVPro via a GPO and have it setup to automatically run and sync in the background completely unknown to the user.
My problem is that if the profile is ran with VVLauncher it fails if the target folders don't already exist.
If I open up VVPro and do a compare it immediately asks me if I want to make the non-existing target folders, and all is good.
I have the "Create source/target folders if the do not exist" checked in the profile, is there something else I need to do to make VVLauncher make the target folders if they are missing? |

Hello
are you running VVLauncher under the same account as when running ViceVersa? What scheduling settings are you using in VVLauncher?
thanks _________________ --

Yes. The install is on a per-user basis and launches only when the user is logged in.

The VVLauncher schedule is every 5 minutes (if changes are found).
Again, as long as the target folders already exist prior to VVLauncher running, everything works fine. It is only when the target folders are missing that the problem occurs.
I failed to include the error message initially, so here it is:
"Can not monitor folder: \\server\Users\username\My Documents"
This is displayed on the second "LCD" banner in the VVLauncher window. |

I think the issue is that VVLauncher is unable to monitor the server folder, because that folder does not exist (yet). After Viceversa has run at least once (e.g. launched by VVLauncher) and created the folder, then the folder monitoring will work.
One solution to this could be to switch off the VVLauncher scheduling option 'detect changes in target' (assuming \\server\Users\username\My Documents is the target).
