Is there anything that can be done to improve the throughput?
Using crc I got the following using a folder where all of the files are between 5-7MB each:
-- Done: 756 (4.66GB) Err: 0 (0) Skipped: 0 (0) Tot: 756 (4.66GB) --
-- Average Transfer Rate: 18.94MB/Sec -- Elapsed Time: 4 min 12 sec
Without crc I got:
-- Done: 756 (4.66GB) Err: 0 (0) Skipped: 0 (0) Tot: 756 (4.66GB) --
-- Average Transfer Rate: 36.63MB/Sec -- Elapsed Time: 2 min 10 sec
Is this normal? Or can it be improved on? Windows takes 116 seconds to copy the same path.
XP Pro, gigabit net, Quad core 2.8ghz, 4GB ram.
I find I get better performance using 65K buffer with Flush Buffer checked.
Also, the backup slows down about a third of the way through. Why is this? |

Hello
with CRC calculation the copy is slower, because VV needs to read the target file after copying to check the CRC value.

This is very similar to the 2 min 10 sec ViceVersa takes.

The spees depends a lot on file size. Small files get copied a lot slower. Is it possible that about a third of the way through ViceVersa starts copying a set of small files?

All of the files are in the range of 5 to 7 meg each. They are all image files of the same dimension. |

Hello,
- When the speed goes down, is that from what value to what value?
- Does the speed go down also with the Flush Buffer option checked?
- And lastly , does the speed also go down when not copying over the network (i.e. a local disk copy)?
thanks! _________________ --
