|
|
I am very new to using this software and would like to ask what is probably a very silly question.
I have bought ViceVersa Pro I want it to make a backup to an external USB drive each evening at 8pm. All i want to backup are two folders in my root drive.
If create a profile and set the schedule to run five minutes after the current time, it works.
The problem is if when I set it to run at 8pm, when I come in the following morning there has been no backup created.
Do you think I am doing something wrong or should I be thinking of buying the VV Engine add on?
Thanks for any advice. |

Hello
I assume that the computer was active @ 8pm, otherwise the scheduled run would be skipped. Are you using VVScheduler to run the task? What are the scheduling settings you are using?
thanks!
P.S. I do not think you need VVEngine for this. _________________ --

I have left the machine switched on but with all users logged out, I have listed below all the details that I think you were asking for from the VV scheduler. Thanks for any help.
Task Tab
Run: my documents\viceversa pro 2\profile1.fsf" /hiddenautoexec
Start in: "c:\program files\viceversa pro 2\"
Ticked Box: Enabled (scheduled task runs at specified time)
Profile Tab
Vice Versa Profile to schedule: \my documents\viceversa pro 2\profile1.fsf
Execution Options: Opens profile, performs comparison, executes. 100% hidden.
Command line flag equivalent: “/hiddenautoexec”
Vice Versa Path: "c:\program files\viceversa pro 2\schedstub.exe"
Command Line: /hiddenautoexec
Schedule Tab
Schedule task: weekly
Start time: 20:00
Schedule task weekly: every 1 week on Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, are all ticked.
Settings Tab
Nothing is ticked on this tab. |

Hello
If you leave the computer on but with all users logged off, make sure the task is not set to run "only if logged on". This option is in the Task Tab (bottom).
The other settings look alright.
