|
|
I like VV very much as it helps me to manage the sync of the files on my laptop and desktop computers.
I have 10 folder pairs in the VV profile that I regularly sync between the desktop and laptop.
I'd like to now sync my Firefox bookmarks file between the two computers. I know that it's called bookmarks.html and is in the folder
C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profilename.default> on my computers.
But I don't want to copy all of the files from the Firefox profile folder, just the bookmarks.html file.
I've tried playing around with the include/exclude filters but I don't think that I'm using it correctly as when I put a filter into my VV profile, it operates across all of the 10 folder pairs in addition to the new Firefox one I added. I want to sync all of the files in the existing 10 folder pairs and only the one file in the Firefox folder.
Is there a way to do this in VV?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I think the best option is to setup a separate ViceVersa profile for this (eg called sync-firefox.fsf). In this profile you could setup one source/target pair and add a filter to include only the file bookmarks.html
Please note that starting with FireFox 3, bookmarks as stored in a different file, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Bookmarks.html

Thanks for the reply.
I'd like to automate this if possible so that when I do my main sync, I also do the bookmarks sync.
Is it possible to make a ViceVersa profile which then starts another VV profile?
Thanks
