I am using ViceVersa Pro 1.3.1. Could you please tell me what the "Cleaning up old backup files" at the end of a synchronisation is?
It goes through several thousand old backup files and this number seems to be increasing every backup run I perform. It adds about a couple of minutes to the total synchronisation time.

Re "Cleaning up old backup files": ViceVersa 1.3.1 is checking if there are old archived files to be removed (see archive settings). _________________ --

OK, I have Archiving enabled so that's understandable.
However, I don't think I have any settings that require removal of any archived files. I have:
* Archiving enabled
* 'Smart' archiving disabled
* Keep max 0 copies per file
* Remove archive copies after 0 days
* Append Source/Target path to archives checked
* '*.pst' File filter excluded
Is there any way I can avoid this 'cleaning old backup files' step. i.e. just archive all changed files but don't post-process them in any way?
I suppose I can archive into a temporary directory (G:\Temp) and then manually move them into the complete archives folder (G:\Archived) with Explorer after its finished. This way it only post-processes the G:\Temp directory and finishes quicker. |

Hello - I submitted a feature enhancement. Currently VV will scan the archive folders at the end of execution when the file archiving is active. It should be improved in the sense that if the user never wants to remove any archive file it should not even scan. _________________ --
