I have recently downloaded the trial version of ViceVersa and must say it seems to solve a task that I have.
The scenario:
2 Win2k3 servers located at differendt locations, connected by VPN.
approx. 55000 files (35GB) needs synchronization on-the-fly, realtime.
Issue/Problem: At present VV is installed only on one server, which by VVLauncher is monitoring this server, when sync is initiated it scans the remote server for changes which takes approx. 12 minutes to finish. This is a problem, since I need it to be much more swift. When a user at point A saves a file it must be copied to point B instantly, is there a workaround for this situation?
Could a solution be to have VV installed on both servers, or would this make an endless loop of replication/synchronization?
I hope someone has a best case scenario to display.
Thanks in advance. |

Currently ViceVersa needs to scan the folders to establish which files to copy. In the future we will introduce an improved version that does the scanning remotely. thanks _________________ --

hi, I am looking to use viceversa to back up all my files to a remote location.
there is around 150 gig of data to back up so I would ike it to be fast and there seems to be a real scanning of remote files issue. Should I hang off buying or is this fixed??
Thanks |
