I have a set of VVengine tasks that start during the night. I would like the computer to switch OFF after the last task is finished. Is this easily possible?

Another question, which is not directly related to VV but can be of interest anyway: when the dayly automated backup starts, I would like my external backup drives to switch ON, and then to switch OFF once the backup is finished. Not only this is good for power saving, but also for security reasons (the drives are only ON when used for the backup).
For this purpose, there would be the need for a power switch triggered eg. via USB. VV could run a script to trigger this USB power switch before the backup and after the backup. My question: has anybody heard about such a hardware device (AC power switch triggered via USB)?...

Currently VVEngine cannot run tasks after a profile runs (something we should add in a next release). But you could setup a script to run after the ViceVersa profile runs, in the ViceVersa profile settings.
Windows can be shutdown using the SHUTDOWN command, see:
http://samanathon.com/windows-tip-shutdown-your-computer-with-the-command-prompt/

To give ViceVersa / VVEngine time to finish the run, use the SHUTDOWN command to shutdown in 120 secs.

I never heard about this, but I believe most drives go into sleeping mode if not used for a while. Unless I am mistaken I think the Maxtor Storage Drive we have goes into sleeping mode if not used for a while.

thanks

Thanks for the link.

I now avoid drives that go automatically into sleeping mode if not used for a while. For various reasons, the drives can wake up multiple times a day when certain software are used (I guess softwares that examine what drives are connected). Waiting the drive to wake up can take a few seconds, which is not confortable. And anyway, waking a drive multiple times a day is not too good for the mechanics.
I have found what I looked for:

But unfortunatly, not distributed in my country.
