When using VVP I get the message "unable to create log file" and the target drive is not updated. The profile has worked before. What is going wrong and how do I fix it?

In my experience, this happens when there is another instance of VV already using the same log file. That in turn occurs when for inexplicable reasons, a previous run of VV has failed to fully exit, typically leaving a running process but without any window associated with it. I recommend checking task manager or your favorite process viewer to see if there is another VV running, and if so kill it once you verify it is not currently doing something useful.
