We had this app on a Windows 2003 SP2 server doing file replication to an external USB drive. I was tasked to move both to a Windows XP SP2 workstation. I copying everything (or so I thought) from the server profile settings to the workstation, but it is not working. When I click on the VVLauncher, the error message reads: "No ViceVersa profile set in VVLauncher service".
I also see in the VVLogViewer the following:
[b]"[Error] Unable to open tracking database. It may be inaccessible or in use by another ViceVersa process[/b]."

Hello
you will need to uninstall VVLauncher as a service, start it as a normal program, and check / change the settings, then re-install as a service.
Alternitavely I would recommned VVEngine to run ViceVersa as a service on Windows.
