Hi All,
I've recently installed Windows Home Server (WHS) to replace an aging Windows 2003 Server box.
On the old 2003 server, I was using VicaVersa (running on my local machine) to backup files on my local E drive, to a shared drive on the server. In addition, files replaced on the server are archived on my local drive E, in a folder called "System Backup"... this all worked well.
(i.e. Source = Drive E (local) - Target = Shared drive)
However, with WHS running the same VisaVersa profile, I receive the following error.
Copying "division-m.pst" (228.64MB) ... [Can not change attributes of "E:\System Backups\ViceVersa\Target\LowSync\division-m.pst_(2008-03-19_20-50-01_OVE_T).pst". The file cannot be accessed by the system.] Error."
This error occurs when ViceVersa is copying the file to be archived (i.e. copying from Target to Source). If I turn archiving off, I don't have an issue.
Anyone have any idea as to what the problem might be?
FYI - I have also tried specifing the UNC address for the target... still no joy.
Now I'm not sure if this is related, but I installed ViceVersa on WHS and started backing up files from one folder to another. I then received a error message stating something about "timestamps" and "attributes" and then, seconds later a BSOD.
Upon reboot, I look at the target folder and found a bunch files called "~vv1.tmp"... trying to delete these files raised an error about the file having an invalid handle. I then tried to delete these files from a remote machine and once again received a BSOD.
Has anyone else experienced issue with ViceVersa and WHS?
Thanks. |
