Question Question Question Question

I have just downloaded and installed VVEngine on a Server 2k3 machine, as Ive used VVPro and scheduler as a service for 18months but now need more comprehensive control over numerous syncs.

Installation seemed to go well. Web Gui access aok.

Set up a test profile vis VVPro (ver2014).

Set up a schedule in VV Engine OK

However when I enable the schedule, VVEngine errors saying FILE NOT FOUND for the profile. Shocked

The user has admin rights and I can see the file to select it in the setup in the first place. I've noted that the XML file only stores the profile file name and not the path.

I've tried a complete re-install. I've tried storing the profile in numerous locations such as C: , My documents , C:\Program Files\VVEngine and the \Local Settings\Application Data\VVEngine.

At a bit of a loss what to try next.

Any suggestions greatfully recieved

Hi, what browser are you using to access VVEngine?
When you setup and select a profile in VVEngine do you see the complete profile path or only the profile name?
The fact that the XML file contains only the profile name and not the entire path is the issue. It should contain the entire path....

I just bought the software and had the same problem a few minutes ago.

I fixed it by saving the profile in the VVEngine installation path. Try that.

ShytKicker :
I've already tried your suggestion. My original post shows the VVEngine installation path was used. No Joy Crying or Very sad but thanks.

TGRMN Software:
I'm using MS Internet Explorer 7 (7.0.573.13) on MS Server 2003

When I set up a schedule I can see the full path of the profile and once selected the full path is displayed in the field. However when saved the XML only contains the profile filename.

I have also tried to edit the XML manually with the path, but I still get the same error.

Well what's funny is that I restarted my server a few minutes ago, and now it can't find the profile for me either.

VV Pro can find it, but VVEngine cannot, and it is in the installation directory as it was before.

I am also running Windows 2003 and using IE7.

PS
Mine also ONLY shows the profile file name, no path.

ShytKicker, does your VVEngine.XML also contain only the profile name instead of the complete path? What if you manually enter the complete profile path with an editor in the XML and save it?

Jinx1966, if you change the XML file manually, make sure you shutdown VVEngine first, then edit and save the XML file then restart VVEngine.

thanks

It only contained profile name, correct. Although I did notice something strange. ViceVersa Pro had its data files under user /Administrator/, but VVEngine had its data files under /clientadmin/. Not sure if this could be the cause of the problem.

I changed the profile name manually to the path. Then I proceeded to restart VVEngine, but I didn't know how - so I installed it as a Service. It then completely stopped working.

I uninstalled and and reinstalled it. I let it use the old data file with the full path that I manually edited before uninstalling. Now it works.

So basically, I edited the file to use the full path, and it works. The whole trick was to restart the VVEngine after modifying the profile path in the XML File.

So far it works on my server. I hope it continues. I hope Jinx finds a solution to this as well.

Well, I saw the last posts and went to edit xml file and restart system.

I accidently logged onto the server under a different user (but still in administrator group). Now Everything works as expected Confused

I then installed as service. Still all OK. Aware of the post saying it stopped after rebooting, I then rebooted. Still All OK.

In summarry the user that I installed the softwrae with does not work but another administrator does. Shocked

I'm still not sure what has occurred here but I'm up and running and that's what counts.

Glad ShytKickers on the right road as well.

Thanks for the help

Regards

Jinx1966 Very Happy
