1) Can ViceVersa emulate the transparency available in the Vista Offline Files option? Under this OS, my N drive (for example) is always just the N drive whether it's online or offline. Can Vice Versa do that?
2) How much latency in the OS does the Real-time synchronization introduce? The Vista Offline Files tends to spike the disk and memory utilization to almost 100% during synchronization (which happens every 5 minutes and cannot be changed). I would like to have real-time synchronization without this 100% utilization. |

In ViceVersa you can define bandwidth and CPU utilization for each syncrhonization.

What I meant is, in the default Windows "Offline files" mode, when you choose to mark a file located in a network share remain available offline it appears to be in the same place whether you're on or offline.
Example. I have a file located in N:\test\ called test.txt. N is a network drive so when i'm on my local LAN, I go to the N drive, open my file and work on it. When I take my laptop offline, the N:\ drive is still available and I can still see it, even though i'm not connected to the network. Windows is redirecting requests to that drive to my local offline file cache.
Can Viceversa do that? Is it planned?
BTW, in some testing we've done, Windows Vista's offline files feature takes around 17 minutes to fully synchronize a 22gb network share. Vice Versa does it in under 3. |

Hi, thanks for explaining. With Viceversa you would always work on the local folder e.g. c:\folderA\ . You then synchronize with the network folder so you always have a copy. _________________ --
