Hi, am new to this, so please forgive any crass comments that I make!
We have just started using Vice Versa to Synchronize between a notebook in Hong Kong and our Server in the UK. We do this via a VPN connection. We have a good quality ADSL connection in the UK but a relatively slow connection in HK. It's ADSL but the upstream speed is 64kb per second; downstream at 600-800kb. The folder we are trying to sync is 3 GB with various Word/Excel docs being changed at both ends. There are a couple of key questions.
1) What are the best setting to have the Sync take place and not continuously stop to ask questions. As the Sync is relatively slow the user in HK wants it to take place overnight and therefore would like it to just run without need to start each "chapter" of the sync process. Is there a way to automatically deal with everything?
2) Are there any particular settings we should enable/disable to help the Sync proceed as fast as possible? Are we doing this in the best possible way ? Current the Sync is taking several hours and it's a lot of downtime and rather frustrating.
Any suggestions from people who've had experience in similar situations is gratefully received ! |
