I am having a problem with the realtime syncing. I have installed viceversa pro and vvengine so it can run as a service. I would like to have it running in the background so it still works when one of the servers is logged out. I want to do realtime syncing but it seems there is like a 5 second lag before the file is copied. I can watch in the vvengine that it sees there is a change right away but then it counts down for 5 seconds before it seems to copy the file to the other server. I need this to be instantaneous. I cannot have a 5 second lag. I am wondering if this can be configured to be instantaneous or not and if so, what do I set.
Thanks. |

Hi, that is the time it takes to start the profile, compare source and target, etc. I do not think it can be reduced. _________________ --

It sounds like there was a discussion going on over a year ago about enhancing the VVEngine to only run a compare on the changed file(s), not the complete source and target directories.
See the following thread:
/forum/viewtopict1098.htm
Was this feature request ever worked in? I'm in the same boat where I need close to real-time replication in directories consisting of thousands of files. I don't want a full compare, just a compare on the file(s) flagged as changed.
If it hasn't been worked in yet, what's the eta? This is a bit of a make or break in our purchasing decision. |
