|
|
I have a new desktop PC with Vista Home Premium Installed on it. After restoring the files in the Documents folder from my external hard drive and using the new PC for a few days, I tried to backup the Documents folder to the same external hard drive. There were relatively few changes made to my files yet Vice Versa Pro 2 ran for over 18 hours and still wasn't half way through. The current rate looked to be averaging less than 100B!
I have been using Vice Versa Pro 2 for quite a while on my old PC and always found it to be reasonably fast. I don't know what could be causing it to run so slowly.
I have a quad core CPU that has all four processors running at 100% when Vice Versa is trying to transfer the files, but as soon as I shut it down, they all return to normal levels; <5%. |

Very much so. I copied over the same set of files manually in less than 10 minutes. I'm totally confused because this didn't happen with VV before on my old PC with Vista Home running on a 1.8 Gh Pentium 4. |

We do not see any performance issues on our Vista machines... maybe anti-virus or file scanning software installed? thanks _________________ --

I have this exact same issue on a brand new Vista Home Premium Machine - writing is ok, but deleting from the external drive is extremely slow and maxes out all 4 processors... i will post the solution if i can find one. |

Thanks! We were unable to reproduce this issue on our Vista computers.
One thing to test is to try to switch-off the option "Use Recycle Bin when deleting". This option is under the main menu -> view -> preferences.
One other thing: does this happen also when deleting files from within Vista explorer, outside ViceVersa ?

One other to try:
Open Programs & Features
Select Turn Windows Features On or Off
De-select Remote Differential Compression
Select OK
It will take several minutes for this to be de-activated.
Re-start to be sure it takes.
