Hello,
I'm in the process of evaluating VV Pro2
Looking to have a 2 server and one laptop setup in my lab trying to test if File Sync redundancy is possible using the VV Pro2 (would eventually be moved out to 3 Win2K3 Servers in production Env. if successful)
Here is how I've configured
Test Enviornment
Machine A,B Windows Server 2003 SP2
Machine C Windows XP SP2
Using ViseVersa Pro v2 and VVLauncher
Machine A Sync's Folder 1 and 2 to Machine B and Machine C
Profile ConfigA on MachineA Looks like
C:\MachineA\path\Folder1 To \\MachineB\path\Folder1
C:\MachineA\path\Folder2 To \\MachineB\path\Folder2
C:\MachineA\path\Folder1 To \\MachineC\path\Folder1
C:\MachineA\path\Folder2 To \\Machinec\path\Folder2
Machine B Sync's Folder 1 and 2 to Machine A and Machine C
Profile ConfigB on MachineB Looks like
C:\MachineB\path\Folder1 To \\MachineA\path\Folder1
C:\MachineB\path\Folder2 To \\MachineA\path\Folder2
C:\MachineB\path\Folder1 To \\MachineC\path\Folder1
C:\MachineB\path\Folder2 To \\Machinec\path\Folder2
Machine C Sync's Folder 1 and 2 to Machine A and Machine B
Profile ConfigC on MachineC Looks like
C:\MachineC\path\Folder1 To \\MachineA\path\Folder1
C:\MachineC\path\Folder2 To \\MachineA\path\Folder2
C:\MachineC\path\Folder1 To \\MachineB\path\Folder1
C:\Machinec\path\Folder2 To \\MachineB\path\Folder2
- I upload a file to Folder 1 through web app on Machine A and it successfully replicates to all Machines
- I shutown Machine B
- I upload a different file to Folder 1 through web app on Machine A but it doesn't replicate to Machine C
Am I missing something in this configuration? I was expecting Machine A and Machine C to happily go along replicating to one-another with Machine B down it didn't happen.
Has anyone configured a scenario like this anywhere else?
Any feedback appreciated...

Hello
I recommend that you use VVEngine instead of VVLauncher.
http://www.tgrmn.com/web/vvengine/vvengine.htm
Create 2 profiles per machine.
e.g.
1st profile with
C:\MachineA\path\Folder1 To \\MachineB\path\Folder1
C:\MachineA\path\Folder2 To \\MachineB\path\Folder2
2nd profile with
C:\MachineA\path\Folder1 To \\MachineC\path\Folder1
C:\MachineA\path\Folder2 To \\MachineC\path\Folder2
So if one machine is not online, the corresponding profile stops running but the other profile keeps running.
Are you running scheduled sync or as changes are detected?

Hello TGRMN Software Support team,
Thanks for the response.
I will review using VVEngine and yes, I was using update as of file changes with VVLauncher.
As mentioned, will review VVEngine and incidentally, does it support "Update when changes detected"?
Thanks Again...

Yes, VVEngine supports detecting changes: I would monitor the local source folders only on each server, not the target. _________________ --
