I ran various upgrades today, including the version of VVPro2 I had installed. Since then, when starting VVPro2 and clicking on Compare, the program terminates. The comparison window opens (and is active - the clock is ticking up) but then a Visual C++ Runtime Library error dialog appears, citing the program C:\Program Files\ViceVersa Pro 2\viceversa.exe - "abnormal program termination". Clicking cancel kills everything (clicking cancel on the comparison window turns the button grey but does nothing else).

Complete uninstall/reinstall doesn't resolve the issue.

Any ideas???

Well, the problem still exists in a sense, but I've got around it by creating a new (identical) profile from scratch. It was possible to use the View Profile Settings link to see them and then reproduce the profile. Why the old one wouldn't work beats me. I didn't have the same problem with another machine I upgraded with an identical profile.

Let us know if it happens again please. In the installation folder you should have 2 files called viceversa.dmp and viceversa.rpt which contain info on the crash (these two files are for our development team to analyze) thanks.

We're also experiencing this error. It seems to always happen when VV hits a specific file. We originally thought it was something about the file permissions or the use of an MS Office password, but the last time it was on a text file with no particularly odd attributes.

Where should we send the error dump files?

I think I've figured out what's causing the crash. Note that the crash happens during the copy process for us, not the comparison.

When VV hits a file that has a modified date of "Wednesday, December 31, 1969, 7:00:00 PM", it crashes. When I view the folder that contains the file using the "detail" view, the modified date appears blank -- I only saw the 12/31/69 date when viewing the properties of the file. As a test, I opened and saved one of these files (thus giving it a new modified date), then re-ran VV. The job then copied the file I changed, but crashed on the next file in the folder (which had the same 12/31/69 modified date).

Thanks, this issue should be solved in the latest published Viceversa PRO. You can try it by downloading from www.tgrmn.com and installing over the current version that you have. Even if the build number is the same, please try re-installing. thanks!
