I have 2 Vista Ultimate machines, one a laptop.
Synchronization would seem to be the most logical choice for me, since I work on both machines, even when they are side-by-side. However, Vista will not allow synchronization: That is, if I am running VV in PC-A, it will not permit copying to, or deleting files in PC-B. And this occurs even though I am the Administrator in both machines with the same login.
On the other hand if I add a file to PC-A that does not exist in PC-B, and then do a Backup from PC-B to PC-A, that new file is deleted!
So, what approach should I take to make this work? I would like to synch, but can't, and with Backups, I lose files.
Regards,

Hello,
Synchronization is the right method , but in Vista you will need to make sure that you can delete / copy files from each computer. Sharing the folders is not enough. You will also need to allow users access to files using the folder permissions.
What folder are you wanting to sync across the PCs?

Thanks for the response. I need to sync data files that i have saved under My Documents, mostly. But also some separate folders that have been created under the primary drive.
Share/ownership/permissions across PC's is not obvious. In fact it is quite frutrating. Do you have any documentations that you could point me to?
Thank you.
