We use VVEngine to mirror our production file server to an online backup. Every week we have to delete all the .tmp files generated by VVEngine out of the TEMP directory of the user account profile (C:\Documents and Settings\<profile>\Local Settings........ etc..). I am having trouble finding the setting in VVEngine that specifies where those .tmp files can be stored. Our system partition fills up with 7GB in a week. I need to know how I can specify that those .tmp files be stored on another partition (ie. drive letter)

Hello

these .tmp files should not be there at all. What are their names and timestamps? Are they created when a profile runs?

thanks

The files are named: ~vv1E0.tmp ~vv1E1.tmp ~vv1E2.tmp etc...
They are about 11,355K in size, and they have logging information in them. They appear when vvEngine runs the comparison/copy profiles. Here is a small portion of the contents of one of them:

Thanks, a few questions:
In which folder do you keep the log file for the ViceVersa profile?
Are you running VVengine as a service?
Under which account are you running VVengine?
Did you setup a max for the log file size?
thanks

Fixed.

I cloned the logfile settings for ALL of the profiles running (we had 7 instead of the 4 I knew about) and rebooted the server. All were pointing to our large data array for storage originally, but perhaps it was different when we first brought VVEngine online as a service and the reboot fixed it. I could not get VVEngine to stop and start again after cloning the settings. The reboot was able to get it all working again. Thanks for all of the assistance.
