md5's 128-bit checksum is more immune to tamping than VV's CRC32, and I think it would really make VV stronger. VV has a 1 in 4 billion chance of creating the same checksum for two different files, md5 makes this ridiculously more difficult.
VV can replicate Date Created timestamps, but it cannot compare them. I'd love to see Date Created data added to the ViceVersa Snapshot (.vsn) format in particular. |
