Can not change attributes of x. The file cannot be accessed

During synchronization between Vista Premium PC and a mapped network storage - the files copied from network drive fail to copy to the Vista machine. The network drive is located on a Windows Home Server and the folders are mapped to a local drive letter (full access and looks like a local disk to each computer).

What I find is that sync from local to network works fine. Files that are manually put on the server (even in folders that exist on both) fail to get copied to the PC during sync. I get the error:
[Can not change attributes of "C:\Users\Dave\Pictures\....filename.jpg". The file cannot be accessed by the system.] [ERROR]

Some Diagnostics:
- I have tried to enable the "flush buffer" - with no luck.
- I also tried to the advanced setting "Copy directly to destination file" - this appeared to work (without errors) except the files copied were CORRUPTED.
- My C: Drive is a RAID drive (2 - 500 gigs in RAID 0 - for speed) which is configured in the BIOS (i.e. OS doesnt know it other than just a C drive). This is a pretty FAST C drive - could this be the problem?
- I am able to copy files manually in both directions.
- I tried running VV as administrator
- Files can sync from the Server drive to other XP PCs on my network, just the Vista cant.
