I have the trial copy of the VV program and was backing up to a NAS. I mistakenly selected Mirror rather than Augment, and quite a few files were deleted before I stopped it.

The NAS has a recycle bin, though it is empty.

Before I launch into a search for a NAS undelete program, is there anything I can do about this with the VV program itself? Since it isn't putting the files in the NAS recycle bin, is it doing anything else with them?

Note that I've left the program open in case there is some solution along these lines.

I have to say, although it is my mistake for picking the wrong option, I'm very unhappy that I didn't even get a confirmation before the program attempted to erase my NAS files.

Hello

Very sorry to hear that ! Sad

If the files are not in the recycle bin, you should immediately look for a "file recovery" program.

It is quite strange that the files are not in the recycle bin, unless you set the option to not move the files in the recycle bin in the program preferences.

Let me know if we can help. thanks

I have the trial copy of the VV program and was backing up to to my slave "D" drive. I mistakenly selected Mirror rather than Augment, and quite a few files were deleted before I stopped it.

I had about 30gb of my fav videos like The Beverly Hillbilies..
My recycle bin has a capacity of 5gb, so i did recover about 5gb out of my 30gb collection.. But how do i get back my missing 25gb and on which drive would they be on the C or D? Keep in mind i was going from D to C to put these movies in my videos folder in the C drive..

Before I launch into a search for a undelete program, is there anything I can do about this with the VV program itself? Does it have a built in undo or secrect data base which i could bring back my movies that were already in the C drive before this genuine disaster occurred?
were are my missing 25gb of .mpg movies gone to?

Note that I've left the program open in case there is some solution along these lines.

I have to say, although it is my mistake for picking the wrong option, I'm very unhappy that I didn't even get a confirmation before the program attempted to erase my movies which were already in the C my video folder.. Mad

Hi, if the files were deleted by ViceVersa and are not in the recycle bin you will need to use an undelete program, sorry about that Sad

ViceVersa asks for confirmation before deleting files, unless the profile is run in automatic mode (scheduled) or you have activated the option not to ask for confirmations under profile settings -> execution

Anyway, I am sorry to hear you lost some files, but hopefully a file undelete program will recover them.

thanks
