I need to backup files in their current state, including files that are currently open. VV gives an error message and skips over locked files.
Is there a way to ignore the file locks & make the backup copy?
Thanks |

I am glad to announce that very soon (we are targeting this weekend ) the new ViceVersa PRO 2 build 2008 will be released.
This version includes support for backing up open/locked files using the Volume Shadow Service (VSS). This capability will be limited to Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, as Volume Shadow Service (VSS) is only available on these two platforms.
This will be a FREE upgrade for customers who already bought or upgraded to ViceVersa PRO 2.
We have been testing this feature for a while now and it works very well, it can copy locked files such as Outlook PST files, Outlook Express files, Quicken files, registry, etc. _________________ --

Will VSS and VV allow for copying of locked files on that reside on a Windows 2000 server if the netword share is mapped to a drive on a Windows XP machine? |
