|

Hi,
I've implemented VV to use in combination with DFS and that works fine from a netapp.
some info:
- i've set the VV launcher on: run as file changes detected, and detect changes in source and target.
- I have 35 source and targets configured with in total 250GB of data.
what i see now on VV launcher is that it continuously is running for a week now. it's checking source and target all the time and this is taking 50% processor all the time of a dual core 3.0 processor.
i don't think this is the way it should, i think it should only run if there is indeed a file change detected.
Does anyone has an awnser for this ?
regards,
bas |

Hello
yes, VVLauncher runs only if a change is detected, there must be a file that is always changing... did you place a ViceVersa profile log maybe in the source? thanks _________________ --

nope, it's on a different drive.
the only thing i see in the log is that is is completed with 1 or sometimes 2 errors. but that's nothing special:
-----------------------
2007-10-10 14:22:50 : -- Errors (Adding) - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 1 (0) [ERROR]
2007-10-10 14:22:50 : -- Errors (Updating) - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 1 (23.69MB) [ERROR]
2007-10-10 14:22:50 : - Added Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 0
2007-10-10 14:22:50 : - Deleted Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 0
2007-10-10 14:22:50 : Exit Code: 3. Execution completed with file copy/delete errors. [ERROR]
-------------------------
i also excluded the dfsrPrivate folder from replication because dfs uses this folder as a staging folder.
so i realy don't know why it's running constantly. |

Is dfsrPrivate a subfolder of source? That folder could be triggering VVLauncher if files are constantly changing in that folder. thanks _________________ --

that is in the source indeed, but i excluded it from replication.
can that be the trigger, so that it lauches the profile but doesn't do anything ? |

Yes, that could be the trigger, VVLauncher does not account for the profile filters when monitoring for changes. _________________ --
