|
|
I am trying to replace my always-on Windows file server with a Linux-based machine. I am configuring Samba for the first time; I have a public share that's wide open and using Windows Explorer I can copy files over at the speed I would expect (50MB in a few seconds). However, doing a sync with VV Pro the speed is far slower; about four minutes to copy the same data.
Any suggestions on what I should change to cure this? |

Hello
For these 50 MB, how many files and what is the average size?
Try these options:
- copy directly to destination file in the profile settings -> advanced settings
- try increasing the copy buffer size in the profile settings -> bandwidth

It was a set of mp3 files, so 10 files about 5MB each.
I will try as you suggest and post back results. Thanks for the quick reply! |

I don't know how on Earth I did this, but I told you I have VV Pro when my version is VV Plus. I take it the options you mention don't exist in that version, correct? |

Okay, I tested VV Pro, and it works fine with and without the direct copy options. Any idea why Plus would differ from Pro in this regard? |

Not sure exactly why PLUS is slow in your case, but VV PRO implements a completely different copy functionality, re-written from scratch... _________________ --
