I just set up a couple of new systems and copied 100's of gigs from the systems they were replacing onto the new systems.

I can use my existing VVPro backup profiles for the backup tasks I have, as trhe new systems are setup exactly the same as the old ones, and the data hasn't changed. However, because the files have all been copied from the old systems, Vice Versa is trying to replace every single file on our backup server. This is going to take weeks.

Is there any way I can bypass time-stamp comparisons, so that VV only writes files which have changed in size, or which don't already exist on the backup destination? Or is there some other way I can run all my backup profiles without VVPro replacing absolutely everything on the backup drive, just because time-stamps have changed? Perhaps there's some way I can get VV Pro to update timestamps on the backup drive to match the source files ...?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Jules

Hello Jules

unfortunately VV cannot copy only file timestamps... that would be the best solution. VV needs the timestamps to match to determine which file needs copying...

thanks

Oh well - thanks for your help anyway. Looks like I've got some serious copying to do.

Cheers
