Hello
I just reinstalled my PC and Vice Versa and got the following problem.
I'm defining my project with all its options and run the comparison to obtain what I want.
Then I save my project and when I reopen it, I get the following error message:
"Error in the file, The Source can not be a sub-folder of the Target"

This message is obvious in its logic but the fact is my source and my target are on different disks:
The Source = D:\MMX - Music (it's one of my PC's hard disk)
The Target = G:\[sauvegarde]\[active]\[sur PHIL-PC]\MMX - Music (it's a removable USB disk)

Can anyone tell me where the problem is? I have tried recreating the project or creating other projects with video and image folders but all had the same error.

By the way, I'm using version 2.3.1

Thx, Phil

Hi Phil,

Version 2.3.1 is a very old version of ViceVersa.
Can you please try with a newer version?

thank you

I'm currently evaluating the product.

I'm setting up a set of 3 disks which I want to keep in sync.

One of the disks will be taken offsite so that files won't be lost in a fire (never had one, hope to never have one but still...)

First disk, USB, black case so I created a folder Black on it with several subfolders (trees) below that.

Second disk, USE, white case so, as you would expect, I created a folder White on it.

Next I set up a profile to sync E:\Black with F:\White, including subfolders.

Click compare and inmediately get the error message :

A folder in Target e:\black\pdf is subfolder of a folder in source e:\black\.

But my target is F:\White...[/quote]

Just reading back my post.

Could the product be evaluating all 4 rules in one go?

Is my C:\Pdf to E:\Black\Pdf be in conflict with my E:\Black to F:\White?

The target in the first would be in conflict with the source in the second?

Hello

yes, you are correct, a second profile is needed for
"E:\Black\" <to> "F:\White\"

thanks!
